Azusa Light & Water Solar Partnership Program

Azusa Light & Water gives back to customers who have solar photovoltaic system installations, through their Solar Partnership Program.

Azusa Light & Water gives back to customers who have solar photovoltaic system installations through their Solar Partnership Program.  It’s the utility’s aim to help decrease the cost of installing a system in one’s residence.  Consumers who are interested in having their own solar PV system should consult with a solar contractor before contacting Azusa Light & Water.

The first step for the customer is to get in touch with a qualified contractor to find out what system is suitable to their home. The contractor should inform them of what the cost, as well as the system design, will be. To help consumers choose the right contractor, information is available on the California Energy Commission’s web site.

The solar photovoltaic system must be UL listed and certified by the California Energy Commission.  The system must have an at least twenty year long warranty against failure and ten year warranty against breakdown.

Once the design is decided upon, the customer should request an incentive reservation from Azusa Light & Water based on the system design agreed upon by both the client and the contractor.  Azusa Light & Water will then determine the incentive, which will depend on the proposed design.  The utility then issues the incentive reservation confirmation as well as the claim form.

The customer completes and signs the Interconnection and Net Metering Agreement from Azusa Light & Water, obtains all required permits, has the system installed by the contractor and turns the system on.

Once the solar photovoltaic system is operational, the customer must complete and submit the Reservation Confirmation and Claim Form to Azusa Light & Water along with the required documentation and W-9 Request for Taxpayer Identification and Certification Form in order to receive the incentive payment.

Once Azusa Light & Water verifies the documents submitted and the system installation, the utility will issue the incentive check.
