Researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology discovered a method to improve the power efficiency of solar cell with the help of viruses that are designed to work at microscopic level. In a typical setup, sunlight hits a light harvesting material that would cause a release of electrons that can be harnessed to generate electric current. With the MIT research, microscopic carbon nanotubes can improve the efficiency of electron collection.
